Laura is an inspirational singing teacher. I was searching for a musical theatre singing teacher for months and then I did a voice meditation workshop with Neon Lights. When I approached Laura for private singing lessons, I was extremely nervous as I hadn’t sung professionally/technically for many years. Laura was so understanding and made me feel so relaxed. She had challenged me with a song that I thought I couldn’t sing, and even after 3 lessons, I’m hitting notes that I thought I couldn’t sing. Even my husband has noticed my improvement! She has great vocal technical knowledge as well as having a wide variety of scores of music, and I know my vocal health is in safe hands. Every week I continue to make progress and I am incredibly grateful to Laura for everything she has helped me achieve. I hope to continue lessons and am looking forward to seeing what happens after many months of vocal training with Laura.

Go to a singing workshop run by Laura and I guarantee you will emerge with an increased feeling of well being and a big grin on your face. No matter how much you love singing, it isn’t always easy to perform in front of an audience. Laura explores different techniques and movement to allow vocal release and tension. Highly recommended!

Best vocal technique workshop I have ever attended!!! Laura created a super fun, playful and truly immersive experience making sure that we all felt comfortable to let go of our inhibitions and simply explore our potential. Plus the space was perfect acoustically with beautiful high sprolling views of Hong Kong feeling like we were singing on top of the city like Maria von Trapp.

From hitting that belted high note with precision to deepening substance and sentiment of a composition, the Masterclass by Neon Lights offered something to be learned for everyone. For the participants who brought music, the masterclass gave valuable insight to developing nuance through acting and voice. For the amateur, the Masterclass touched on key fundamentals. For the professional, skills were augmented. The Masterclass revisited the basics while stroking key points often overlooked to build upon participants’ knowledge. Whether participating or observing, the Masterclass will give you the safe space to reflect, evaluate, and build your constructs of acting and voice.

Having no training in musical theatre, I decided to dip my feet into Musical Masterclasses anyway (brave attempt!) – once as a participant, and another as an observer. I was thrilled and fully engaged in both sessions, especially delighted to find that there are participants of different age ranges and backgrounds. The rewarding experience was subjected to Nicholas and Laura’s precise and well-thought-out facilitations. They made sure it was a safe space for us, with feedback catered to individual concerns and needs. They were also quick to pick up and explore small performer habits, which helped us to dig deep into our ways of thinking about certain musical numbers. Nicholas and Laura had the capacity to motivate us from our insecurities and unleashed greater potential in both our voice and character. The Masterclass was worth every penny - with so many beautiful voices gathered, eager minds to learn, and a thirst to empathize with musical pieces, I would surely return for more classes!

Laura and Nicholas delivered an outstanding musical theatre workshop with the utmost professionalism; as practitioners, they both compliment each other beautifully and set an encouraging and supportive atmosphere for all participants.
I have been performing professionally for over 10 years and today I learnt brand new vocal techniques and was refreshed of acting skills that were explored in an innovative manner. It was a privilege to be amongst so many talented and like-minded performers and reminded of why I love this profession so much.
